I think I share the opinion of Stefan, “Etical must be first”. A few
weeks ago I received an offer to buy shoes from a hong kong based shoecompany.
The priced in the xls file were 2-4 USD the shoe. So I thought if the worker
gets 10 % and has to work 1 hour for the shoe he´ll receive 0.20 ct. So you
got to work 10 hours just to earn 2 USD. In 2008 Fatema Akter died in an
indian fatory because she worked more than 15 hours a day for several month.
Fatema Akter was 18 years old.

I couldn’t imagine not being honest with my customers if I ever started with a own business because I think all of us on the world want to be treatened well and honest, rather than be lied to and lose money for nothing.

It is very critical topic for discussion and reformation of norms. several webmaster are using seo activities which are not ethical but, every one wants better rank. i think there should be norms and regulation fot it.

I wouldnt say that ethical business equals succesful business. while there might be various examples of a that (even in online business) the general rule is the more rules you break and the more people you screw over the more success you’ll have. but maybe that’s just me being cynical. nice post anyway..

i think its pretty important to be ethical in such a cruel word where, nobody seems to be ethical.

Thanks Ann for looking at the online business from an ethical point of view!

You have said, that this issue has been discussed at so many forums and conferences up to now, but I still think, there are some countries in Europe, where the online business is booming, as well, but some guys have never heard before that their methods might not be “ethically correct”.

I also had many experiences when I told friends how this business is actually working. Most of them were suprised, but no one said, that they have some ethical doubts.
